Australian Eggs were looking to create a best practice self assessment tool for the egg industry to benefit Australian egg farmers.

The self assessment needed to allow a farmer to compare their practice to industry practices and benchmarks, giving farmers insight into practices they might not be aware of and feedback on where they are performing well.

Inline with their vision to proactively support egg farmers and ensure industry sustainability, Australian Eggs aimed for the online tool to bring the elements of sustainability down to a farming business level to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for focus and improvement based on real data. 

KEO developed the Farm Sustainability Dashboard for Australian Eggs on our KMS, creating the self assessment tool for egg farmers to utilise. 

The online tool allows farmers to select self-assessment modules of interest and receive practical feedback on environmental practices, hen welfare, on farm processes and economics. Through the completion of a simple questionnaire, the dashboard analyses answers to identify opportunities to improve on-farm and business practices and safeguard against future market and industry changes for egg farmers.

Australian Eggs engaged KEO to develop the Farm Sustainability Dashboard for Australian egg farmers. The dashboard was developed to help egg farmers from all production systems and sizes to identify opportunities to improve on‑farm and business practices to safeguard against future market and industry changes.

Recognising that industry improvement only happens on farm, the dashboard was intended to provide practical feedback and direct egg farmers to the key aspects to consider, whether they are well advanced in pursuing sustainable practices or just starting out. Understanding that industry sustainability is broad, KEO helped bring the elements of sustainability down to an egg farming business level through the various modules of the dashboard to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for focus and improvement. 

With an awareness of many businesses hesitant to share details about their operations, KEO designed a solution for farms to create unique user profiles with confidence in order to participate effectively and receive feedback specific to their operations and requirements.
